WATERFEATURES...WHAT'S NEW...

MEDIUM to LARGE PROJECTS. RENOVATE - RELINE - REPAIR - REPLANT- TRANSFORM. NATURAL & FORMAL. Also ugly, unplantable holes in the ground full of water transformed and beautified...

Part Two of Ten...

NEWBURY, Berkshire
No thought had gone into how it would be planted to disguise the un-natural concrete edging...meaning it was dug out wrongly making it unplantable.

We created rock planting bays to capture the plants. We then created a "natural" rock stream to add interest but mostly to oxygenate the pond...

To get your bearing note the black shed in the distance...

There is the black shed and nothing but grass...

And next another major clear-out and redesign...this time of a clay lined small lake...

BEACONSFIELD, Buckingham...

Sadly not holding it's water anymore, great for paddling in the mud, if you are a goose that is...no alternative but to recompact the clay base, plus new wooden edging, to hide the sheer sides and also to stop the water leaking out sideways...

No planting here...geese and ducks would eat the lot in a few days!

The challenge here in Staffordshire, was to divert the stream, below the liner, in a culvert...line the pond and raise the levels to be compatible with the existing, un-changeable levels...

We created a mock natural stream on top of and to replace the now culverted ditch stream that used to run into the pond. We built a facility at the top of our stream that would allow the real stream to overflow into the pond in times of flood.

This we did 7 years ago...and the client recently asked us to revisit it and give it a makeover...desludge and regravel.
And although we do not have any pictures yet...it looks amazingly natural.

Next a blank canvas in Dorset...

BLANDFORD FORUM, Dorset...pond and garden makeover.

To get you bearing note the Willow Tree to the left...

And now we are in YORKSHIRE...here we are making the liner ourselves to fit the pond as a pre-made liner would be too heavy to move around and fit into such a large space...
