PAGES and PAGES of pictures...to INSPIRE you to call us! Chapter One of Ten (120 images of ALL our own work)...

Here is a perfect example of what we can do for YOU, do not be put off by the scale of this project we love to do small gardens. We show large gardens as the detail is easier to see.
Here we show you...Natural Stone Walls, Steps and Pathways a specialty...and then, being gardeners and plantsmen too, we planted it!

And next, SO THAT YOU CAN SEE THE WALLS IN MORE DETAIL, is how the garden looked before we planted it, and yes we can do a complete package if you want one person to do everything, design, clear the site, lay foundations, build natural stone walls, steps, paths, turf, plant... but we are also happy to work with your favorite Garden Designer too if you already have a design.

Set prices, not estimates and long guarantees...Workmanship 5 year, Plants 1 year.

Here you can see reclaimed walling and new, and now the planting can begin...

Here's a good clear view of the skill involved...100% Reclaimed Cotswold Stone with new Bespoke Stone Gate Pillars.

Please note that we work all over the UK...we have staff working in various parts of the country but if you live nowhere near one of our bases our staff stay nearby at no charge to yourselves.

Here you can see we have used the walls to create and retain terraces. In the next image you can see the other-side of this wall being visually softened by the planting.

All of the walls that you can see in this picture are built using new Cotswold Stone. But of course we use local stone wherever we can.

Cappings on the wall in the background are a traditional "country" way of capping a wall, called "Cock and Hen". The wall in the foreground, being nearer the house, is capped with "no expense spared" cut Cotswold coping stones.

We only use quarries that allow us to HANDPICK our own stone, thus allowing us to build what we design with the perfect stone, instead of a mixture of good stone and rubbish stone that the quarry has to get rid of...

Natural Dorset Walling Stone (again Designed, Built and Planted) much more varied in colour than Cotswold, and harder too...thin handpicked slices for the lower wall, and a mixture of sizes and colours for the back wall.
All handpicked, by ourselves direct from the quarry...never ordered through Stone Merchants!

Natural Dorset Rockery Stone in the background.

Next we will show you the meticulous preparation that goes into our Natural Stone building process which allows us to guarantee all of our workmanship for FIVE YEARS.

But bear in mind attention to detail is time consuming and comes at a price...

Natural Stone Paving and retaining wall capped with matching crazy paving.

What a beautiful set of steps! Again, part of a complete garden transformation...Natural Stone in the garden of a very modern, Grand Designs type house!

Also note the variation of sizes of stone used, you can't buy it like this, our Garden Stonemasons, chop it, split it, and cut it to size using old fashioned skills...that's a hammer and chisel!

This is the same stone, as the last project, and now you can see the colour variation...more interesting than Cotswold, just look at all the colours, and next is what these lovely steps replaced, but before you move on, to get your bearings, note the Blue Summerhouse...

Foreground walling...we didn't build the wall in the foreground...that was done by the clients builders, lots of mortar visible...builders like mortar! And "natural stone" that's shaped like, and is therefore as interesting as...a brick!!!

Go back to the previous image, of the natural stone steps that replaced them, and see the difference.

And back to the Cotswolds again...this time a Natural Cotswolds Rill with a central feature pouring water in two directions...more on this charming feature later.

Note you DIY'ers, looking for ideas...there's only one source of hard Cotswold that will stand up to being in water and freezing, and we have it!

NORMAL Cotswold Stone, is fine when used in drystone farm and field walling, BUT when in contact with water, it will crumble when frosted!

Water levels are perfect therefore the paving surround has to be too!

The clients wanted a nice clean edged pond that was easy to look after and here it is...we've used formal cut stone to create the formal fountain, and you can just see the old French taps, one on each side.

The edgings are Sandstone, cut by hand (on site of course, not by a computer operated saw) to form the shape...not easy, as both ends have to exactly match. They are sitting on rough natural stone walling.
